David is a lifelong Ventura resident and proud father of two teenage boys. He is a voracious science fiction reader, yoga enthusiast, passionate gardener and avid recycler. In David’s free time, he can be found camping and hiking with his sons, or in his personal fabrication lab that includes a full wood shop, CNC machine, 3D printers and self-built aluminum forge.
As the founder and Chief Technology Officer of Abundance Internet, he is driven to ensure that people have access to secure, quality and affordable high-speed internet.
David’s path as an internet service provider started when he was only 16 years old when he ran coaxial cable across a back wall, so he could share internet and play “Doom” with his neighborhood friend. By 18, he would become a network designer for GTE managing a state wide x.25 network for the 911 system and worked with the ADSL and Americast Cable teams to plan and build city-wide networks throughout southern California.
Over the next two decades, he would be an integral part of multiple startups and large technology firms such as Hewlett Packard and SUSE. In the past 10 years David’s primary focus has been OpenStack (cloud), data center design and software defined networking.
